May is National Mental Health Month and it's a great time to take a look at what your local VA Medical Center and VA Vet Centers have to offer.

VA provides a host of mental health services specifically designed for returning servicemembers. You can read about a few of them on our website.

If you prefer to speak with a fellow Veteran, in a confidential setting, regarding your readjustment from military to civilian life after your service in a combat zone, then try visiting a VA Vet Center.

If you or someone you know is suffering from substance abuse, please share this information on how VA can help:

How Can I Get Help?
• Speak with your existing VA healthcare provider
• The VA New Jersey Health Care System – June Mayer, at 973-676-1000, extension 2369
• Contact your local Vet Center
• Call 1-800-827-1000, VA's general information hotline
