Podiatric Residency & Clerkship Programs

The Department of Veterans Affairs New Jersey Health Care System offers training to podiatry residents and students in two programs:

  1. The program is a CPME fully approved PMSR with the Added Credential in Reconstructive Rearfoot/Ankle Surgery.  The residency provides a full scope of surgical training in all training years with a vast number of surgical attendings - forefoot, reconstructive rearfoot & ankle including Charcot reconstruction, limb salvage and arthroscopy. The program is well established, stable and since it began in 1988, 120 residents have been trained.
  2. This is a podiatric clerkship program, four to five weeks in duration, based on the National Clerkship Calendar.  This program will no longer accept students for Clerkship Program

Located in the New York metropolitan area, both programs provide a rich array of professional and culture experiences.  Travel times are only 30 minutes to New York City, 45 minutes to the Jersey Shore, 90 minutes to Philadelphia, 4 hours to Boston and 4½ hours to Washington D.C.
